On this project, the customer team was spread too thin. They had tough time planning and writing story tests for the next iteration.
They experimented with the following. The customer team decided to meet immediately after the iteration planning meeting on the same day or the next day and plan for the next iteration. Since the last iteration plan was fresh in their mind, they were well equipped to plan for the next iteration. It also eliminated last minute preparations for the next iteration. This practice of planning for the next iteration immediately after the end of the previous one has really helped them.
The customers also started pairing with the programmers on Friday before the iteration planning meeting to write / refactor story tests for the next iteration. This proved valuable as it reduced the communication gap between the two the programmers and customers. It also prepared the programmers for the next iteration.
